Guidé par le photographe napolitain Pasquale Autiero, le projet Octopus rend hommage à Naples en la traversant de part en part, sans s’arrêter, sans respirer, en laissant ses huit membres l’explorer aussi sauvagement que la ville les a accueilli. Du Mercato farouche au stade où naissent les mythologies nouvelles, de la digue soudain apaisée aux dédales labyrinthiques, voici que s’y déplace une pieuvre à huit pattes et aux doubles d’yeux, avec la matière argentique, le grain et la rue comme seuls alliés. Car comment mieux retranscrire tous les paradoxes d’une ville brute, fière et indomptable, dont on sait, pertinemment, qu’on ne se remettra jamais vraiment… ? Ces photographies, emplies de vie, d’amour et de vacarme, sont la trace foisonnante de cette rencontre aussi inattendue que fulgurante.

Guided by Neapolitan photographer Pasquale Autiero, the Octopus project pays tribute to Naples by crossing it from one side to another, without stopping, without breathing, letting its eight members explore it as wildly as the city welcomed them.  From the fierce Mercato to the stadium where new mythologies are born, from the suddenly soothed seawall to the labyrinthine maze, here goes an octopus with eight legs and double eyes, with film, grain, and the street as its only allies. Because how to better transcribe all the paradoxes of a raw, proud and untameable city, from which we know, pertinently, we’ll never really recover…? These photographs, full of life, love and noise, are the abundant trace of an unexpected and dazzling encounter.
